    Five Dead in Horrific Shipyard Explosion in Bhatiary, Chattogram

    A horrific explosion at a shipyard in Bhatiary, Sitakunda Upazila, Chattogram, has resulted in the death of five people. Several others were seriously injured in the incident.

    The incident occurred at Ferdous Steel Shipyard in Bhatiary. The injured have been taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

    Ferdous Wahid, Managing Director (MD) of Ferdous Steel Shipyard, informed the media that three people died on the spot. The injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment. He initially believes the accident was caused by a gas leakage.

    According to local sources, the explosion occurred while a ship was being dismantled. Sources claim that the explosion was triggered by gas present when a boiler was being cut in the yard. Following the incident, injured workers were rescued and taken to a local hospital. Several of them are in critical condition.

    However, the exact cause of the explosion and the precise number of casualties are not yet definitively known. Despite multiple attempts to contact Chattogram Medical College Hospital, detailed information regarding the number and nature of the injuries could not be ascertained.
